What an aMAZEing Friday Night... corny? I know.

Last night I spent some time with family and friends as we went to a local farm in Valley City, Ohio. We decided to go to Beriswell Farms because of their grand fall festivities. They have a hay ride, corn maze, gigantic slide, cornbox (like a sandbox but with corn) and several other games for kids.

Even though our main focus was the corn maze, we first took a ride on the hay ride. This was a twenty minute ride that went around the entire property of the farm. With the full moon shinning, we were almost able to see everything we rode past. Some spots of the ride were so swampy that I thought the tractor was going to get stuck. Luckily, there were no problems.

Once we arrived back at the barn, we entered the maze. This part of the evening was quite exciting since no one had any idea where we were going. There were twenty people in our group, and somehow all the children kept deciding which way we were supposed to turn. Luckily, my brother-in-law stepped up and started leading the way or we may still be inside the maze trying to find our way out.

I feared for my life
After we made it out of the maze, we bagan exploring all the other activities on the farm. The slide we went down was about thirty feet up and incredibly steep. The kids that came down the slide were shooting out of it like little rockets slamming into rubber mulch to cushion the landing. I went down a few times and thought that my legs were shoved into my armpits. The kids kept running all over the place enjoying the mini petting zoo and the cornbox, but at about 9:30pm everyone was ready to head home for the night and hit the hay... again.

Hey, If you liked this, my family and I are going to the Charm Days Festival, and Harvest Festival in Charm, and Wilmont, OH, respectively. It's on Oct. 12th, 13th. I know that they have the hay rides/ buggy rides etc. But they also have shovel racing (you sit on a shovel attached to a running horse.)Probably more fun for you than the kids :).

That sounds like fun. I will have to see what we are doing that weekend.
